Joe Boyou Sr. holds a Master’s degree in Social Work. He’s a husband, father and award-winning author.

Joe’s message is all about resilience. He could’ve faced another life, one that included becoming a child soldier in the Liberian Civil War. Instead, luck, hard work and true grit led Joe to the U.S. Air Force, where he held the rank of Staff Sergeant.

From fleeing a civil war, to becoming a refugee in Guinea, Ivory Coast and Ghana, Joe knows what it’s like to come from the bottom.
